Why is Turmeric so Healthy?
Turmeric is a bright yellow-orange spice that belongs to the ginger family. It is commonly used in Indian, Southeast Asian, and Middle Eastern cuisine. This spice is also known as Indian saffron and is native to southeastern Asia. It has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries and is known for its powerful antioxidant called curcumin.
Curcumin gives turmeric its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which may help reduce the risk of various diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. The rhizome or root of the plant is ground up to make turmeric spices and supplements. Turmeric has several compounds that can benefit your health, with curcumin being the most well-known.
Next time you feel under the weather, you may want to try sipping turmeric tea. Curcumin may help fight off a range of viruses, including herpes and the flu.
As its cousin, ginger, is a popular natural remedy for headaches, it's not surprising that turmeric is also recommended as a treatment for headaches, particularly migraines. Some individuals believe that applying a turmeric mask on their skin or consuming turmeric can assist in combating stubborn pimples. This may be due to the spice's purported antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

1 Hand of Ginger peeled and roughly chopped
4 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 Cup of turmeric peeled and roughly chopped or 2 Tbsp Turmeric Powder
1 Whole Lemon peeled for easy blending
1 Tsp Black Pepper
OPTIONAL: Add half a cup of water to help the blender work efficiently.
Preparation:
Use a knife to roughly peel and cut your pineapple, ginger, turmeric and lemon on a chopping board.
Place the cut pineapple, ginger, apple cider vinegar, turmeric powder, and lemon into a blender.
Blend until the mixture is smooth, then strain it using a nut bag and pour it into a pitcher.
Next, pour the mixture into a bottle and keep it in the refrigerator. Serve it in smaller containers, similar to shot glasses.
If you have a slow cold press juicer, using it instead of a blender to make this booster is best.
Enjoy!
