About the event
 Fermentation is the process of conserving and preserving food, and it's a skill that anyone can master and include in their diets. The Art of Fermentation explores the historical context of fermentation and how it applies to today's world. From Kombucha to vegetables, you will learn about the various possibilities of fermentation processes, their uses, and their nutritional benefits.
This introductory course is designed for non-food professionals who are interested in food traditions and the health benefits of fermented foods. You'll learn how to confidently follow, practice, and develop ferments for your own use at home or in a professional setting.
Learn how to make your own kimchi, kombucha and pickles, and discover the world of fermentation - one of the oldest preservation techniques. Making your own fermented foods is one of the best and simplest things you can do to improve your health, and it's so much fun.
The workshop will be a mixture of demonstration and hands-on cooking, with lots of tips, talking, and tasting. You will get to have a go at making kimchi or a jar of seasonal fermented vegetables of your choice, as well as get a chance to try some flavored kombucha and make your own to take home.
You will go home with a few jars of your own unique ferments, plus your own Kombucha starter and plenty of inspiration, as well as recipes to keep experimenting with the fermented food and drinks in your own
